Expanded summary of the study on the effectiveness of the hair loss serum (CAPILIA LONGA)

Objectives of the research

The research was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the serum CAPILIA LONGA PPF in reducing hair loss and promoting hair regeneration.

"Besides the main goal, which involved reducing hair loss and regrowing hair after five months of use, the purpose of the research was:"

  • "to check the effect of serum on the ratio of hair in the growth phase (anagen) and hair in the resting phase (telogen),"
  • evaluate the impact on hair density,
  • gain insight into user satisfaction regarding the increase in strength, robustness, and overall condition of hair.

Study structure

The research was conducted as a monocentric, randomized study with two groups:

  • Group 1 (active serum): the group received a serum containing Curcuma Longa Callus Culture Conditioned Media, which is based on plant cell cultures.
  • Group 2 (placebo): the group received serum without active ingredients.

The study involved 40 volunteers with hair loss issues. The volunteers were aged between 18 and 65 years, with hair loss levels assessed using the Hamilton scale (II-IV). The study lasted 150 days (five months), including four control points:

  • initial (T0),
  • after 45 days (T45),
  • after 90 days (T90)
  • and in conclusion (T150).

Conducting the study

Volunteers used the serum daily, according to the instructions:

  • nanos on dry scalp, with a gentle massage for better absorption,
  • avoidance of washing after application.

The evaluations were conducted using the following methods:

  1. Hair Photos: a visual representation of changes in the number and quality of hair between the beginning (T0) and the end (T150) of the study.
  2. Trikogram: analysis of hair growth by measuring the ratio of hairs in the anagen (growth) phase and telogen (resting) phase.
  3. Hair density measurement: counting the number of hairs on a surface of 0.25 cm² using a digital microscope camera.
  4. Combing Test: monitoring the number of hair strands lost while combing under standardized conditions.

Key results

1. Ratio between hair growth phases (anagen/telogen):

  • Group 1 (active serum): The ratio improved from an average of 2.6 at the beginning (T0) to 3.3 at the end of the study (T150), indicating more hairs in the growth phase and fewer hairs in the resting phase.
  • Group 2 (placebo): The ratio worsened, as it dropped from 2.4 (T0) to 2.0 (T150), indicating a deterioration of the condition.

2. Hair Density:

  • In the volunteers in group 1, hair density increased by an average of 17.34% after 150 days, while the increase in group 2 was only 4.04%.
  • The increase in hair density in group 1 was already visible after 90 days (15.30% increase compared to the baseline condition).

3. Hair loss (combing test):

  • Group 1 recorded an average hair loss reduction of 56.45% compared to the baseline (T0).
  • In group 2, the reduction in hair loss was significantly lower, at 25.45%.

4. Visual changes (scalp photographs):

  • In group 1, changes in the quality and quantity of hair were visibly noticeable in the photographs of the scalp taken at the beginning and at the end of the study.
  • For group 2, the improvement was less pronounced, and in some cases, the situation remained unchanged.

5. Self-reporting of volunteers:

  • Volunteers in group 1 reported a significant increase in hair strength, reduced brittleness, and an overall improvement in hair vitality.

Discussion

The results clearly indicate that the serum with CAPILIA LONGA PPF significantly contributes to reducing hair loss, promoting the growth of new hair, and improving their quality.

"In addition, the serum has extended the duration of the anagen phase (active hair growth), which is crucial for long-term prevention of hair loss."

On the contrary, the placebo serum in group 2 caused a deterioration in condition, as it did not prevent hair loss or improve their condition.

Conclusion

The lotion CAPILIA LONGA PPF, based on plant cell cultures, has proven to be an effective solution for reducing hair loss and promoting their regeneration.

"Its use is safe and brings visible results after just three months, with significant improvements after five months."

"It is recommended for everyone who wants to improve the density, strength, and overall health of their hair."
